We are focussing our cadet training strategy toward building core skills through the Basic, Proficiency and NNAS schemes. The idea being that cadets become technically competent before attempting leadership. Combined with this is the push toward Duke of Edinburghs Award which builds team working skills and gives valuable expeditioning and planning experience. We believe that once cadets have all this in place they will have all the necessary tools to progress naturally into the EL scheme or better still the Bela scheme once they have turned 17.
Our adult training strategy has a similar focus in that core technical skills must be developed before leadership skills and these, combined with logged experience will develop good adult leaders.
You will find a range of useful files for download in the services section of this site as well as updates of course information including confirmation of accepted applications for courses and a list of approved EL and DofE assessors.
